Multi-instrumentalist Mike Hartland has lived in Seaton, Cornwall since 1980. He played violin with leading ceilidh bands Cam Kernewek and Asteveryn and has performed a large number of solo gigs around his home turf od SE Cornwall. In 1985 Mike turned to Mandolion as his inspiration and published several collections of his original melodies and dance pieces, all inspired by Cornish and Celtic Music.
Seaton Symphony is Mike’s most ambitious work. A celebration of the seaside village where he has lived happily for over 40 years. It represents three phases of activity which took place in the Seaton Valley over several decades: an initial period of peace and quiet is followed by as fast, hectic movement before returning to the tranquility of the final movement. Originally issues in 2006 as a Sibelius Software file, the piece has now been rearranged and reorchestrated.

Movement 2: Dowr Owresek (Running Water) / Medley inc Picklecombe Jig.
Movement 3: Rocknose Waltz / Medley inc Meneghy (sanctuary)
Medley Pieces include: Mermaid of Seaton, An Mor Yeyn (the Cold Sea), Mordonnow (Sea Waves), Michaels Folly and Deth-Tarth (Daybreak)
