A Seagirl's Cry was composed by Lorna West to verse written by Valda Trevlyn Grieve and sung here at a concert commemorating Valda in Bude 1991.

In previous centuries carols were traditionally sung around the streets and farms in the Stratton area, memories of this having been documented by the Saunders/Jewell family of Stratton and the Tape family of Morwenstow.
