Paul Saggers
Based on the famous traditional Cornish tale of the Mousehole Cat.
Programme notes (Paul Saggers)
Written by Nicola Bayley in 1991, The “Mousehole Cat” tells the story of a “Storm-Cat” which prevents the local fishermen leaving the harbour of Mousehole, until one brave fisherman known as Tom Bawcock and his cat Mowzer venture out to sea. Mowzer eventually saves the day by soothing the storm with her purring.
“The Great Storm-Cat” by Paul Saggers depicts the turbulence of the storm and how Mowzer comes to save the day!
2017: The first public performance was by the Cornwall Youth Brass Band conducted by Dr Stephen Cobb.
