Commissioned by the Cornwall Youth Brass Band.

In three movements: Round, Cavatina, Galop

1967: The first public performance was by the Cornwall Youth Brass Band conducted by Malcolm Arnold.

The original score was presented to Malcolm Arnold’s friends, Tony and Hilary Giles, as a wedding present. Tony Giles was a St Agnes-based artist. Subsequently Hilary approached me and asked if I could find it a permanent home for the music and I arranged for it to be deposited at the Cornish Studies Library (later Kresen Kernow) in Redruth.

 

Used as a contest test piece including:

1968: West of England Bandsmen’s Festival (Class B)

1978: British Open Spring Festival (Senior Cup).

1980: West of England Bandsmen’s Festival (Youth Class)

2017: European Championships. (Development Section)
