George Lloyd
The HMS Trinidad March was composed for the ship on which George Lloyd served during the Second World War and became, in his words, “the official ship’s march”.
1941: It was first performed at sea by the Royal Marine Band conducted by George Lloyd.
It was originally written for Military Band, and arranged for full orchestra in 1946 and for brass band; it was used at The Last Night of the Proms in 2013.
