Veryan is a coastal civil parish and village on the Roseland Peninsula

1893: Hundreds of people were attracted from a distance to the charming little village, and during the day the Veryan Band delighted them with selections of music, which to their credit, they performed very satisfactorily. (8 June 1893 – Royal Cornwall Gazette)
1890s: J Dowrick was MD of Veryan Band. (John Brush / BBHD)
1895: Special harvest festival services were held at the Bible Christian chapel, Wadebridge, on Sunday. St Veryan Brass Band, under the conductorship of Mr J Dowrick (bandmaster), played good selections of music during the afternoon. (17 October 1895 – Royal Cornwall Gazette)
