South Petherwin is a village and civil parish in east Cornwall

1865-1873: South Petherwin Brass Band active. (John Brush)
1870: North Hill banner and Band of Hope, interspersed with emblematic banners and flags; the South Petherwin Military Band was placed in the centre. They then proceeded through North Hill to the grounds of Trebartha. (23 July 1870 – Royal Cornwall Gazette)
1872: To their lodge room, they partook of a good substantial dinner, prepared by Mr. Hobbs, Rilla-mill. The Southpetherwin Brass Band was in attendance and rendered many selections of music from the most popular authors in capital style. (11 May 1872 – Royal Cornwall Gazette)
1873: The members of the Browda Lodge celebrated their annual festival on Tuesday. The South Petherwin Brass Band led the procession to the parish church. (10 May 1873 – RCG)
