1896: Lanner Brass Band paraded to St Day on Saturday evening and were well received. (12 June 1896 – Cornubian and Redruth Times)
1898: A procession marched through Lanner headed by Lanner and Twelveheads Brass Bands, and in the evening tar-barrels were lighted on United Downs. (18 March 1898 – Cornubian and Redruth Times)
1898: Anthony Barnett of Carnmarth, leader of the Lanner Band, left home on Friday for South Africa, and was accompanied by Jos. Billing. (1 July 1898 – Cornubian and Redruth Times)
1900: Surprise was manifest in the quiet little village of Lanner on Wednesday when it was authoritatively announced that Lanner Brass Band had ceased to be, owing to political decisions having broken out in its midst. (18 October 1900 – West Briton and Cornwall Advertiser)
Considering the following item, either the players were reconciled or a new band was formed.
1901: Goonown (St Agnes) Band of Hope held their annual festival accompanied by the Lanner Brass Band. (31 May 1901 – Cornubian and Redruth Times)
1902: Lanner Brass Band disbanded due to the considerable emigration of would-be musicians to countries such as South Africa, mining being the primary cause. (Band Website)
1902: Lanner Brass Band re-formed under conductor Mr Bray. (John Brush)
Lanner Brass Band disbanded at some point.
1949: St John Ambulance Divisions of Redruth organised their annual concert in Redruth fair meadow. Lanner Home Guard Band, under Mr E Williams, and the Falmouth Accordion Band, led by Mr C Merrifield. (9 June 1949 – Cornishman)
