Landrake is a village in southeast Cornwall approximately three miles west of Saltash in the civil parish of Landrake with St Erney

1952: “The Landrake Band instruments were raided by a group of schoolboy ‘musicians’ for a local event. One of these ‘players’ commented that the only tune they knew was Jingle Bells so for the next two hours they pretended to play and hummed, loudly, this one song over and over again. For this they won the ‘Tableaux Humorous’ prize, so I suppose that it could be argued that the band did win a competition at least once.” (John Brush)
