1900: The band of C. Co. Ist V.B. D.C.L.1., under Bandmaster McKenzie, played selections at different places during the afternoon and evening, and £4 3s. was collected. Perranwell Brass Band, under Bandmaster T. Andrew, and Flushing Fife and Drum Band, under Bandmaster J Johns, also paraded the streets. (6 September 1900 – West Briton and Cornwall Advertiser)
