Welcome to an enchanting evening celebrating the rich tradition of carols of the Roseland! Our project revealed over forty traditional carols connected to our beautiful region, and we have handpicked the very best for this special performance. Enjoy familiar favourites like the ‘Sans Day Carol’ and ‘While Shepherds Watched’ alongside hidden gems such as ‘Arise & Hail’ and ‘Resplendent Beauty.’

We are thrilled to present a collaborative performance featuring Amici Voci, the Roseland Churches Choir, and two newly formed groups: the Roseland Carol Choir and the Roseland Youth Carol Choir. Adding to the festive spirit, St. Anthony’s Noyse, the Roseland’s own band, will also perform.

We hope you will love our carols as much as we do:

Roseland Carol Project: Roseland is a peninsula, in south Cornwall, between the River Fal and the sea. It is largely rural and coastal in nature with two or three larger villages and many smaller hamlets. During 2023/24 the St. Gerrans & Porthscatho OCS, Cornish National Music Archive, and Roseland Music Society collaborated on the Music of the Roseland project which explored all genres of music from the Roseland. Arising out of that endeavour was the Roseland Carol Project which has researched traditional carols connected with Roseland. The object of the project is to encourage people to gather in Roseland and sing the traditional carols, taking them to new audiences, and to establish a future legacy of carol singing.

Carols of the Roseland Book: The carols have been collated into a new book published by the Federation of Old Cornwall Societies. This publication highlights the wonderful Cornish culture of Roseland.
