I was born in 1985 in Reading, so I’m not officially Cornish at all! That said, I have no memory of my life prior to Cornwall – we moved to St Austell when I was four-years-old – so I do consider myself Cornish by nurture if not by birth! Neither

The piper on the top of St Austell church tower serenades the streets of St Austell. . We know little about the carving of the piper except that it presumably dates to the building of the church in 1500 making it one of the oldest depictions of bagpipes in Cornwall.
