Wassail songs travelled with Cornish Diaspora. A community of Cornish miners settled in Wisconsin 1830 / 1840 and took with them a Wassail. In 1946 the Wisconsin Folk Song Project recorded a Wassail from John Persons who recalled it being sung by Cornish “boys” in 1876 when he was 17.
