Dur ha Tan
As sung by Tir Ha Tavas (Dee and Dave Brotherton) for the Finistere project:
A popular Breton song sung in kan ha diskan style with a leader and a chorus. Translated from the Breton version in Villemarque’s collection of traditional ballads “Barzaz Breizh” by Mick Paynter for the Finistere Project in 2021. The closeness of the Breton and Cornish languages is illustrated in the chorus Tan (fire) in Breton ins also Tan in Cornish, Dir (steel) is Dur in, Tir (land / earth) is Tir.
As sung by Gilles Servat in Breton (click to see on youtube)
