“CORNISH COMPOSER. MR. LL. SYLVESTER TONKIN’S NEW SONG “CORNWALL. Mr. LI. Sylvester Tonkin, the Cornish composer, who has achieved considerable tunic by his previous compositions, has just published new song, entitled “Cornwall,” the words of which have been written by Mr. Arthur Bush, of Plymouth. “Cornwall,” which has lots of vim and go, and possesses a swinging chorus, is suitable for all voices, has already been accepted in all the schools of Bristol and Cardiff, and no doubt will be sung ; in all the schools in Cornwall. The words are localised, and introduce such places as Land’s End, Penzance and St. Ives in the text. i was broadcast from Plymouth at the end of August, the vocalist being Mr. John Collins, and it will be sung by the same artist at the Cornish dinner in London on November 5th Mr. Tonkin has composed many successful pieces.”
