1889: Mawgan, on Tuesday last, the proceeds being towards defraying the training expenses of Mawgan Brass Band. The programme was a very lengthy one but each performer was unquestionably in good voice and spirits. (21 March 1889 – Royal Cornwall Gazette)
1889: The proceeds amounted to about £35, and numerous articles remained unsold. The Mawgan Brass Band was in attendance. (8 August 1889 – West Briton and Cornwall Advertiser)
