Penponds is a village west of Camborne.

28th August 1855: Penponds Band played at Camborne Horticultural and Cottage Gardening Show. “…there were two good bands of music in attendance – the Camborne Band and the Penponds Band – the latter dressed in a neat uniform. They were placed at each end of the room and played alternatively a variety of music.” (RCG 31st August 1855)
1857: Re-emerged as Penponds Sax Tuba Band. (John Brush) The reference to it being a sax tuba band appears to have been shortlived.
1857: East Penwith Agricultural Society. A great many spectators were present, and a stand was erected for the Penponds Brass Band. (24 July 1857 – Royal Cornwall Gazette)
1857: Camborne Cottage Gardening and Horticultural Society. Penponds Brass Band performed various popular and other music. (21 August 1857 – Royal Cornwall Gazette)
1858: Camborne Horticultural and Cottage Gardening Society. Penponds Brass Band was stationed at the lower end of the room. (6 August 1858 – Royal Cornwall Gazette)
1858: Together with other gentlemen and mine agents in attendance were the Camborne and Penponds Bands, and a corps of County Constabulary. (26 November 1858 – Royal Cornwall Gazette)
