Mousehole is a village and fishing port about 2.5 miles south of Penzance on the shore of Mount’s Bay

Mousehole Temperance Brass Band wore blue rosettes and medals. (John Brush)
One time, when the band were on their way to Ludgvan, they met Billy Foss, the Cornish poet, who stopped them and on the spot composed a piece of poetry which started: “Who are these, with medals bright, Banners gleaming in the light, All of them are devils quite – Teetotallers!” (John Brush)
1882: Grand Juvenile Temperance Demonstration (established 1861) bearing their large banner painted by Mr J G Hall, and the banner-bearers wearing silver medals. Paul Band heralded the Mousehole and Sheffield little ones. Mousehole Band gave out music to the abstainers of that town. (6 July 1882 – Cornishman)
1888: Mousehole Brass Band active. (John Brush)
1892: The Ensign having offered a short prayer, the hymn Crown him Lord of all was sung, accompanied by the Mousehole Salvation Army Band. (1 December 1892 – Cornishman)
1895: A crowded camp-meeting followed. Hymns and several musical pieces, by the Mousehole Band. (12 September 1895 – Cornishman)
1900s early: It seems likely that Mousehole Brass Band disbanded. (John Brush)
1905: At 2.30 a procession was formed headed by Mousehole Salvation Army Band, under Bandmaster W J Eddy, and marched to the beautiful valley of Lamorna. (27 April 1905 – Cornishman)
1907: The Mousehole officers were present, together with Mousehole [possibly Salvation Army] Brass Band. (10 October 1907 – Cornishman)
1909: Mousehole Salvation Army Band was present and tendered effective and much-appreciated help at Sunday afternoon’s service in Newlyn Salvation. (11 March 1909 – Cornishman)

1930: The men’s and women’s section of the British Legion attended, the march being led by Mousehole Salvation Army Band, under Bandmaster Willie Eddy. (17 July 1930 – Cornishman)
1943: She found great consolation and is now the oldest Salvationist in the country. During the weekend, Mousehole Salvation Army Band played hymn tunes outside her house in her honour. (14 October 1943 – Cornishman)
