Helland is a civil parish and village 2 ¹⁄₂ miles north of Bodmin.

1909: Bodmin Helland Brass Band, under the conductorship of Mr A R Symons, rendered a programme of sacred music at Bodmin on Sunday afternoon. (RCG 2nd September 1909)
1919/21: Bodmin Old Comrades Band formed. Comprised of ex-servicemen and conducted by Mr R Symons. It started life by giving a concert every Saturday evening at the Market House. (John Brush) This is likely to have been Helland Brass Band which was already in existence.
1920: Bodmin Comrades’ Brass Band visited Lostwithiel. (West Briton and Cornwall Advertiser 13th May 1920)
1920: Bodmin Comrades’ Band provided music during the day. (West Briton and Cornwall Advertiser 4th October 1920)
1927: Helland Band disbanded with members joining the new Bodmin Town Band. (John Brush)
