Cornwall Once Again
Jim Wearne copyright 2015
Now we sing our Cornish land,
And our Cornish breed.
Subject now to foreign law,
Oppressed by foreign greed.
Ours by right her shores and fields,
Ours the triumph when,
We bring the pride of nationhood,
To Cornwall once again.
All who work for Cornish pride,
And risk oppression’s sword.
Keep the goal always in sight,
Of freedom’s great reward.
Go in peace to win the prize,
With law and vote and pen.
The time is near, the world will hear,
Of Cornwall once again.
All who live across the sea,
Look homeward now and sing.
Sing of all the love you hold,
The help that you can bring.
Keep the flame of hope alive,
And burning on ‘till then.
Until the day that all return,
To Cornwall once again.
When the day of freedom dawns,
Soon, we dare believe.
Not too late, we hope we’ll be,
Injustice to relieve.
So until that day has come,
And the great Amen, we
Lift our voices one and all,
For Kernow once again.
