From the singing of Des Duckham. He was one of the resident performers at the Fal Folk club which met at the Dock and Railway pub in Falmouth. He was a staunch Cornishman and made a point of introducing songs from Cornwall to the singing of the club. He was also very proud of pointing out that he was a cobbler by trade and training.
Cobblin was originally written by Bernard Moore, pen name ofSamuel Syrus Hunt (1873 -1953). He lived in London but his poetry was inspired by Cornwall and Cornish culture and dialect. His work on Cornish Dialect was recognised in 1934 when he was made a bard of Gorsedh Kernow in 1934 and took the bardic name Morrep – sea verge.
